New name for Hatfield water firm

A WATER company based in Hatfield has today (Monday) been given a new name, following a merger.
Veolia Water Central will now be known as Affinity Water, after the company merged into a single business with Veolia Water Southeast and Veolia Water East.
The signage outside the company’s headquarters in Hatfield Business Park has already been changed, and over the next few months, the old Veolia logo will be replaced by the Affinity design on bills, letters and vehicles. A new website has also been launched.
Affinity chief executive Richard Bienfait said: “Our new name was chosen to reflect our community-focused company and our passion to deliver a high quality water service to all of our customers.”
The company has said the cost of the name change will be met by owners and not passed on to customers.
Water charges will continue to be set by national regulator Ofwat.
