A new interim headteacher has been appointed at a Welwyn Garden City school.
Glen Pettengell was appointed to the post at Sir Frederic Osborn School today (Monday).
Mr Pettengell has worked at five secondary schools during his teaching career, most recently as deputy head at a Harpenden secondary school.
He replaced Sue Lewis, who quit her job at the Herns Lane school just a week into the new term, “to spend more time with my family”.
Chair of governors Tobit Roth said: “I believe Glen Pettengell brings a wealth of experience to Sir Frederic Osborn School, and I am confident that working with the dedicated and hard-working staff within the school, he will make a significant difference to our children and the community we serve.”
Mr Pettengell said: “Already I have seen what immense potential the students who learn at Sir Frederic Osborn have.
“Students were eager to learn and listen, worked hard and modelled the conduct and attitudes which you would expect to see in any outstanding school, and all staff were ready for the challenges ahead.”
