Welwyn Hatfield Council is considering a planning application by developers Taylor Wimpey to build 38 new homes on the site of the old Ford Garage on London Road, Welwyn.
It is the latest proposal by Taylor Wimpey for a housing development on the land, where local cinema the Pavillion Picture House stood from 1938 to 1961.
An application to build 41 houses on the site was turned down in December for not being in keeping with the surrounding area.
