A new dance group aimed at over 55s in Hertfordshire is being launched in Hatfield at the end of this month.

A brand new initiative, Dance Re:Ignite, developed to get the over 55s in Hertfordshire moving, will be launched at a dedicated dance festival on Friday, March 24, at the University of Hertfordshire.

Open to all over 55’s in the Hertfordshire area, participants will have the opportunity to join in dance and animation workshops, watch performances and meet new people with a shared interest in dance, under the training of professional dancers.

Funded by an Arts Council England Grant and supported by Creative Hertfordshire, Dance Re:Ignite is managed by BEEE Creative, a dance agency which delivers dance projects for the general public and schools.

Carrie Washington, owner of BEEE Creative, said: “Dance Re:Ignite is a fantastic opportunity for people to come together to build friendships and develop new skills.

“We hope that the dedicated dance festival in March will be the beginning of an annual event, and more people can become involved in the workshops which are running throughout the course of the year.”

The Dance Re:Ignite festival will be held on Friday, March 24, 10am until 3pm at The Weston Auditorium, University of Hertfordshire, de Havilland Campus, Hatfield.
