A new Argos store is set to open inside Potters Bar’s Sainsbury’s later this month.

A spokeswoman for the retailer confirmed it will be officially unveiled at the Darkes Lane supermarket on Saturday, April 25.

She added: “We are delighted to be bringing Argos and Sainsbury’s together under one roof, offering customers a convenient way to shop for both groceries and Argos products.

“Customers will be able to find 20,000 Argos products in the Potters Bar store, with another 40,000 products available with four hour same-day Fast Track collection and delivery services.”

She also confirmed it will replace the previous in-store click and collect programme, and is expected to create between 12 and 15 jobs.

The supermarket giant completed a £1.4billion takeover of Argos in 2016, and has since been adding Argos shops inside its larger stores.

The new Potters Bar store will provide a much-needed boost to the high street, which many businesses claim is suffering due to lack of retail shops and soaring business rates.
