A new African restaurant is set to open in Hatfield.

Lilian Orji and her husband Emeka are looking forward to opening their new restaurant in Town Centre sometime this month.

They are currently waiting for a decision on their licence application to stay open until 3am.

Mrs Orji, who has lived in Hatfield for about five years, said: “We wanted to shake things up a little bit in an African way. It will be very relaxed dining. People will be able to come in, have a drink and watch the football, hang out with friends. On Fridays and weekends, we hope to have a DJ so there is some life and somewhere for people to hang out and have a good time.”

The new venture will be called Incognito African Lounge, taking over the premises of the former Hatfield Coffee House.

Mrs Orji, a practising GP, said: “It’s been vacant for quite a few months.”
