Consultation events are set to be held over plans for a new garden suburb extension to Welwyn Garden City.

The site, named Birchall Garden Suburb, spans about 600 acres and lies next to Moneyhole Lane Park.

It is owned by Tarmac, which is proposing 2,500 new homes there, plus a new primary school, secondary school, community centres and new country park.

The first consultation event will be in the form of a ‘community planning weekend’ from 2pm-6pm on Friday, November 20, and 10am - 1pm on Saturday, November 21. The event will be held at the Best Western Homestead Court Hotel, Homestead Lane, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 4LX.
