Music festival Goatfest back at Codicote pub this weekend

TWO-DAY music festival Goatfest takes place in Codicote this weekend.

FOUR years ago, six live acts turned up to play a charity gig at The Goat Inn as the Codicote pub held its first ‘Goatfest’ on the back of a lorry trailer.

This weekend some 1,200 people are expected to attend a two-day festival featuring some 25 bands at the High Street pub.

That shows just how far the Goatfest has come in its very short lifespan.

So far 6,000 has been raised for Isabel Hospice from the annual event and organiser Rowan Patel said that figure will increase for a charity which is close to his heart.

He said: “Everyone has charity that they hold close to their hearts and this can be for a number of reasons, whether it be to do with a family member, a desire to see a certain illness cured or just the wanting to help.

“The Isabel Hospice is close to my heart as my grandad was there before he passed away after a battle with bowel cancer.”
