WELWYN Hatfield MP Grant Shapps has ‘no issues’ over his parliamentary expenses.
The shadow housing minister received the news in a letter from Sir Thomas Legg, the former civil servant appointed to review MPs’ allowances in the wake of the expenses scandal in July.
During the course of his review, Sir Thomas has identified a number of MPs that he believes have expenses to repay.
He is currently preparing a report which will go before Parliament’s Members Estimate Committee late this month.
A statement released by the committee said: “Any overpayments identified by Sir Thomas Legg in his review should be repaid by MPs.”
