A SUMMER lunch at MP Grant Shapps' house has raised more than �2,500 for charity.
The event in aid of The Mixed Group, of which Mr Shapps is patron, was held last Sunday in the back garden of his Brookmans Park home.
Along with wife Belinda and his three children, the family hosted more than 130 guests. Visitors were treated to music from band Stick with It and couple Eric and Joy Young.
The money, of which �1,000 was raised on the tombola, will go towards providing a Christmas Day lunch for the elderly and lonely in Welwyn Hatfield.
