A SMASH between a motorbike and a car led to an air ambulance having to land in a nearby school.

A man riding a black Honda motorbike was in collision with a blue Rover just after 1.30pm today (Friday) on Darkes Lane, Potters Bar.

The air ambulance was forced to set down in the playing field of Mount Grace School, Church Road to administer treatment.

Although the helicopter was not used, the motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The condition of the man driving the Rover is currently unknown.
