Police have confirmed that the man who died in last night's A1(M) crash is not local to Welwyn Hatfield

A motorcyclist who died in a crash on the A1(M) is not local to Welwyn Hatfield, police have confirmed.

Officers are still appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision on the A1 Northbound at the exit slip road of Junction 6.

The crash happened at about 7.30pm last night (November 10).

Three vehicles, a motorbike, lorry and car were involved.

The rider of the motorbike, a man in his 50s, sadly died at the scene.

No one else was injured.

The road was closed in both directions to allow investigations to take place at the scene.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to contact them particularly in relation to the motorbike rider appearing to lose control of his vehicle and anyone else who may have passed the scene.

Anyone who can assist is asked to contact the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting ISR 677 of November 10.
