A WOMAN has been taken to hospital this morning (Monday) after her motorcycle collided with a car.

The accident took place just before 9am, when a silver Yamaha motorcycle collided with a blue Renault Clio on the A1000 Great North Road, at the junction of Shepherds Way, Brookmans Park.

The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old woman, was taken to the QE2 hospital in WGC with a leg injury.

Paramedic Caroline Hetherington said: "A woman who we believe to be 25 sustained a leg injury after her bike collided with a car. Following treatment and stabilisation at the roadside, she was conveyed to the QE2 hospital in WGC.

"On our arrival there was a district nurse who had stopped and comforted the woman. Her help and assistance was very much appreciated."
