THE passenger on a motorbike was hospitalised after a collision near Potters Bar.

The accident happened on the Great North Road between Little Heath and Potters Bar at 1.07pm yesterday (Sunday).

A BMW collided with the motorbike, sparking police, ambulance and helicopter medics from Magpas to rush to the scene.

Ambulance crews from St Albans, Welwyn Garden City and Magpas Helimedix attended the scene.

A spokeswoman for independent charity Magpas said: “The Magpas Helimedix team assessed the passenger from the motorbike, a woman in her 40s.

“They administered additional pain relief and applied a pelvic splint before accompanying her to the Lister Hospital. Where on arrival she was in a stable condition.

“The driver of the motorbike and car were unhurt.”

Police closed the road whilst emergency services treated the woman.

Welwyn based emergency care practitioner Mark Giddens, who was first at the scene, said: “The woman was treated and stabilised at the roadside by land and air ambulance crews before she was taken by land ambulance to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage for further care.”
