Staff and shoppers at Morrisons in Welwyn Garden City filled trolleys with extra presents to donate to charity.
Three trolleys were filled with toys that were donated to Home-Start Hertfordshire, to help families in need of help at Christmas.
Home-Start CEO Lara Norris said: “I had tears in my eyes to know that shoppers and staff care so much this Christmas.
“The toys collected will go to families that need our help and isn’t that what Christmas is all about?
“If you were one of the people that were kind enough to give this Christmas all of the Home-Start team wish you and your family an extra special Christmas as you have brought so much joy and hope to children this year.”
Home-Start Hertfordshire, which recruits and trains volunteers to work alongside families, is looking to recruit more volunteers in January.
Anyone with parenting experience who has two to three hours a week to spare to visit a family and give them support can call 01438 367788 or email admin@home-startherts.org.uk to volunteer.
