More than 100 people have already said they would like to enjoy a meal on Christmas Day, thanks to a charity set up to help combat loneliness.

The Mixed Group, which organises a festive event each year, has had 109 acceptances for its annual dinner.

And the charity was given a boost when more than £600 was raised at an Italian evening, held at Terranova in Stanborough Park, WGC.

Charity founder Sean Cox told the WHT it costs between £7,000 and £8,000 each year to hold the event.

He said: “It’s going really well.”
