THREE of Times Territory's other MPs also gave the campaign their backing.
Oliver Heald, MP for East and North Herts, said pledging his support was "essential".
He said: "They are so important to communities, up there with the local shop, pub, church and school.
"These are essential building blocks and taking one as big as the post office would rip out the soul of a village."
Hertsmere MP James Clappison also backed the campaign and endorsed the message of "use it or lose it".
He said: "I would be more than happy to support the campaign.
"It is quite sneaky to close something that is so vital to local communities and that could seriously affect people especially the elderly.
"People must use them and to lose post offices would have very unpopular consequences."
Charles Walker MP for Broxbourne, who represents the villages of Goffs Oak and Cuffley, also joined the campaign.
He said: "I wholeheartedly support the campaign. There are few great British institutions left but the post office is one of the few remaining.
"I for one would be happy to pay a couple of extra pence for a stamp to keep these places open.
"I frequently use my post office and it would be a real shame to see it close.
"People need to be proactive and use their local post office as it is crucial we view it as our responsibility.
