A CHEQUE for 4,000 has been handed over by a golf club in honour of a sporty youngster.
Karen and Steve Blease, whose young son Mat died of an undiagnosed heart condition in 2008, received the money for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Panshanger Golf Club held two charity days to raise the cash – Mark Reeds’ captains day and Des Bartley’s golf day – both in aid of CRY.
The golfers also raised more than 400 for Isabel Hospice in WGC, by making a 50p donation every time a ball went into a bunker on the 18th hole.
