A MISSING 81-year-old has been found this morning after a search of Welwyn Garden City.
Police had been carrying out door-to-door enquiries across Panshanger as residents joined the search to find Peggy Ruddock last night.
She had gone missing from Elizabeth Close at about 3pm yesterday (Wednesday) and police were extremely concerned for her welfare.
Police announced at 9.15am today (Thursday) she had been found safe and well and thanked the public and media for their support.
Chief inspector Sue Jameson said: “Support from members of the public in tracing Peggy has been overwhelming and I would like to thank everyone for their help.
“I would also like to thank the media for their support in broadcasting appeals.”
