Villagers were subjected to a mini crime wave with cars being damaged and burglars targeting homes in Welham Green.

A Peugeot 206 in Somers Square, a Suzuki Swift in Somers Road and a Seat Ibiza in Fourways Market all had their rear windows smashed, police have reported.

Vandals struck overnight on October 7 in the first two incidents and between October 7 and 10 for the third.

There was a burglary in Coningsby Close between 6.45pm and 6.50pm on October 8.

Suspects went into the rear garden before forcing open a rear door to get in.

They made a mess before being disturbed.

A police spokeswoman said: “Three men were then seen to run out of the property and get into a silver vehicle.”

Between October 7 and 9, there was also an attempted burglary at Welham Manor where someone tried to force open a UPVC door, but didn’t manage to get in.

Anyone with information about any of the incidents is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
