Mill Green Museum and Mill is set to make a splash with its water awareness event later this month.
Affinity Water, which sponsors the museum’s ‘All in the Drop’ exhibition, will be explaining the importance of water through several interactive activities.
Children will be able to meet Bertie the Badger, make their own butterflies and enjoy free giveaways, as well as enjoy river dipping activities to help them discover the diversity of aquatic life.
Councillor Tony Kingsbury, executive member for policy and culture, said: “This event highlights a really important issue that all of us face; the fact that water is a vital but finite resource.
“For this year only, this event will replace the Teddy Bear Fun Day, so picnics and teddies in swimming costumes are most welcome.”
The event, which will be formally opened by Lord Salisbury, will be between 11am and 4:30pm on Wednesday, August 23.
