THE inaugural Sonisphere Festival line-up at Knebworth House is fast taking shape with more acts to be revealed tomorrow (Monday).

Rap-metal favourites Linkin Park and rock giants Metallica will headline the two-day camping event in the grounds of the Hertfordshire stately home this summer.

Chester Bennington's Linkin Park will play the legendary venue on the first day, with heavy metal gods Metallica closing the touring festival on Sunday, August 2.

Although the exact running order for the festival has not been confirmed yet, the WHT understands that Metallica will be supported on the second day by the majority of the acts already announced.

For the four-piece - James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo - are also down to play Marlay Park in Dublin on August 1.

They will be joined in Ireland by Avenged Sevenfold, Alice in Chains, Thin Lizzy, Mastodon, Lamb of God and The Sword - all acts down to play Knebworth as well.

The only other group confirmed so far for the UK leg of Sonisphere is Welsh band Bullet For My Valentine.

But the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction and Placebo are all being repeatedly linked with the festival.

Playing Sonisphere on the various European dates are Slipknot, Korn, Primal Scream, Down, Cradle of Filth and Pendulum.
