A 65,000 scheme to improve children's playgrounds across Hatfield has been officially launched.
Set up by Hatfield Town Council, the programme, which kicked off at Roe Hill playground, in Briars Lane, is being financed by The Big Lottery Fund.
Welwyn Hatfield mayor Michael Long, who joined town councillors and children for the launch, said: "It's important for children and parents to have these facilities available to them. Children can have fun and parents know they'll be safe and stimulated."
A number of other playgrounds across Hatfield, including the facility at St Albans Road East, are set to be improved during the remainder of 2009.
