FOR the second year running, a massive firework display will take place in the grounds of Hatfield House.

The stately home will once again host the display on Friday, November 5, as people across the UK mark the 405th anniversary of Guy Fawkes’ infamous plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament.

Besides the fireworks, there will be a bonfire, light entertainment and refreshments.

Proceeds from the event will go to the mayor of Welwyn Hatfield’s charities, which this year are Help for Heroes and The Mixed Group.

Mayor Howard Morgan, said: “I’m very pleased Hatfield House has agreed to help me to support my charities this year and would like to thank Lord and Lady Salisbury for their repeated hospitality.

“Last year’s event was such a huge success, I hope people will come along this year for what is expected to be another electrifying display and a really enjoyable evening.”

Gates open at 5pm, with the bonfire being lit at 6.45pm.

The display is expected to conclude by 9pm.
