Masked raiders target John Lewis store in Welwyn Garden City

MASKED raiders broke into John Lewis in Welwyn Garden City and helped themselves to cash and vouchers.
It is believed two crooks gained access to the Bridge Road department store via an alleyway adjacent to it and left through a fire exit.
The first raider is described as male, around 6ft 5in and slim.
He was wearing a light hoodie with the hood up and dark bottoms and dark gloves.
The second burglar is described as male, around 5ft 10in and of medium build.
He was wearing all dark clothing, a baseball cap and gloves.
Both men had their faces covered with white masks.
Detectives are particularly keen to trace a member of the public who walked along the alleyway around the time the offenders were believed to be gaining access to the building.
Dc Mark Cotte is from the Local Crime Unit in Hatfield is investigating the break-in which occurred between 8pm and 9.10pm on July 10.
He said: “I am keen to trace the person who walked along the alley and anyone else who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the offenders either breaking in or leaving the store afterwards.
“They may have information that will help our investigation.”
