A special council meeting will be held where tributes will be paid to the late Welwyn Hatfield Council leader Mandy Perkins.
Mrs Perkins died at Lister Hospital in Stevenage on September 29.
She had been diagnosed with cancer last year, but was admitted to hospital with an infection just days prior to her death last month.
A council spokeswoman said: “We have arranged a special council meeting on October 23 for members to pay tribute to Mandy.
“We’d like to thank everyone for their many kind words and messages to date.
“Mandy was so well liked, respected and admired by people from all walks of life.
“We are discussing how best to commemorate and remember Mandy and hope to share this soon.”
Councillor Tony Kingsbury is currently acting leader following Mrs Perkins’ death.
The Conservative group will elect a leader, who is then put forward to full council for appointment as the new council leader.
This is expected to take place at a meeting on November 19.
Mrs Perkins’ funeral will be held on November 1 at midday at St Mary’s Church in Welwyn.
Everyone is welcome to the service.
