Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was airlifted to hospital following a serious collision in Hatfield.

The incident yesterday was in Link Drive at 6.35am, and involved a collision between a Fiat Punto and a man in his 30s.

A police spokeswoman said the pedestrian was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. She added he has undergone surgery and is now in a stable condition.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was uninjured.

Police asked anyone with information to call 101.
