A MAN had to be cut free from his car after he crashed it into a lamppost this morning (Friday).
Emergency services attended the smash at 12.10am on the Great North Road near Oxlease, Hatfield.
Steve Duncan, watch commander at Hatfield Fire Station, was at the scene.
He told the Welwyn & Hatfield Times: "The car had left the road and hit a lamppost.
"The male driver was trapped in the car and we used cutting equipment to free him."
The man, in his 40's and from WGC, was treated by paramedics before being taken to the QE2 Hospital with minor injuries.
