The air ambulance was called out after a man collapsed on Sunday afternoon in Datchworth.

An ambulance spokesman said: “We received a call at 2.56pm yesterday to Datchworth Green, Datchworth, to a report of a man who had collapsed and stopped breathing.

“Two rapid response vehicles, an ambulance crew and East Anglian Air Ambulance were dispatched.

“They treated a man, believed to be in his 60s, who was in cardiac arrest.

“Following treatment at the scene, they resuscitated the man who was taken to Lister Hospital by land ambulance in a critical condition.”
