Police, fire and ambulance services were called after a car overturned on the road in Codicote.

Police were called at 7.43am today to the B656 road, where one car had overturned on the roadway. No other vehicles were involved.

The only occupant of the car, a man, was out of the car when police arrived.

An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were also sent to the scene, and paramedics treated the man for a head injury before taking him to Lister Hospital for further treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Firefighters from Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage also attended, but no firefighting was required so the crew assisted the police and left by 8.09am.

Recovery of the vehicle is being arranged and police currently remain on the scene.
