Man suffers 'serious head injury' following collision in Hatfield

A man has suffered a serious head injury following a collision in Hatfield this morning.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) received a call at 6.39am today to the junction of Wood Vale and Link Drive, to a report of a collision between a car and pedestrian.
“An ambulance crew, rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer, volunteer doctor and Herts Air Ambulance attended.
“They treated a man, believed to be in his 40s, who had suffered a serious head injury.
“He was airlifted to Royal London Hospital for further treatment.”
Police are currently still at the scene, and have closed the road while the vehicle, a Fiat Punto, is recovered.
