A BOOZE-INDUCED skiing prank which went horribly wrong has killed one and left a Hatfield man seriously injured in hospital.

Richard Watkins, 41, of Hatfield, suffered severe head injuries when he ploughed into a fence on a plastic sledge made out of a rubber barrier.

The tragedy happened in the popular Alps skiing resort of Sauze d'Ouix near Turin, Italy.

Pal David Monk, a 46-year-old man from Ware, was killed.

Another Ware man was taken to hospital while another man ran off believed to be in a state of shock
