A man was hospitalised after a collision in Hatfield.
Fire crews were called at around 2.30pm on Saturday, February 27 after a blue Fiat and a blue VW Golf were involved in a collision on the roundabout between Comet Way and Wellfield Road, Hatfield.
A man in his 30s in one of the cars was suffering from a suspected back injury so firefighters from Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City removed the roof and doors of the car to create enough space to bring him out on a spinal board.
They used two sets of Lukas cutting equipment and an electric saw to cut the roof off the car.
An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were called at 2.47pm and took the man to Lister Hospital in Stevenage. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police were called by the ambulance service at 2.54pm and closed the road at the junction of Wellfield Road and Lemsford Road.
Both vehicles were recovered and the road was reopened by 4.20pm.
