A MAN has admitted his part in an attempted sham marriage in Hatfield.

Masood Ahmed, 39, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to facilitate a breach of immigration law at St Albans Crown Court on Friday.

He was arrested on May 25 at Hatfield Register Office in St Albans Road East, before a marriage ceremony between Spanish national Luisa Moreno Ruano and University of Hertfordshire student Tallah Wakeel, from Pakistan, was due to start.

Both Ruano, 27, and 22-year-old Wakeel, from The Drive, Isleworth, pleaded guilty to the same charge at an earlier hearing.

All three will be sentenced in October.
