A 48-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for two weeks after he admitted carrying an adapted metal chain in Welwyn Garden City.

Manfred Nagy, of no fixed address, admitted possession of an offensive weapon at Central Hertfordshire Magistrates Court, sitting in St Albans.

The court heard he was found with the chain, which had a taped handle, on August 17 in Lynmouth Road.

He was jailed for two weeks by magistrates.

On the same day, he was found to have a small amount of cannabis in a tobacco pouch, but was given no further penalty.
