Police have arrested two teenage girls in connection with a late night stabbing in Hatfield.

Police were called to Oak Tree Close, Hatfield, just before 11.50pm on Tuesday to reports that a man had suffered stab wounds following an earlier altercation.

A 17-year-old girl from Welwyn Garden City and an 18-year-old girl from Hatfield were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH. They have been released on bail until February 17.

The victim, who is aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It is believed that the victim is known to the offenders.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Mark Cotte said: “We are doing everything we can to find the people responsible for this offence and I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the incident take place, or if anyone knows who could be responsible, to please contact us via the non-emergency number 101 as soon as possible.”
