The ambulance service was called to Welwyn Garden City this afternoon

A man in his 70s was taken to hospital following a fall in Welwyn Garden City this afternoon.

Several members of the public were helping him after he fell in Stonehills at about 1pm, before the ambulance service’s rapid response vehicle arrived.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “The paramedic arrived within eight minutes to assess the man, thought to be in his 70s, and who was conscious and breathing, for what were believed to be minor injuries.

“He was then taken to Lister Hospital for further care.”
