Pedestrian seriously hurt in Welwyn Garden City crash

A pedestrian was seriously injured in Welwyn Garden City yesterday following a crash involving two vehicles.

Police were called at 5.22pm to reports of a collision in Black Fan Road.

Two vehicles (a black Volkswagen Golf and a black Jaguar S-Type) and a pedestrian were involved.

The pedestrian, a man in his seventies, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Road closures were put in place while the incident was dealt with.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 5.23pm yesterday with reports of a collision in Black Fan Road.

“We sent one ambulance and took a man to Lister Hospital for further treatment.”
