Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted

A man was dragged from his lorry and repeatedly kicked during an attack in Cuffley.

Police are today appealing for witnesses following the assault in Burleigh Way, on November 8.

The victim, a 39 year old lorry driver from Hungary, had parked his vehicle to take a break at around 5pm.

A police spokeswoman said: “He was approached by the offender, who punched him through the open cab window before he opened the door and dragged the victim into the road, and kicked him a number of times.

“The victim suffered a black eye, a cut to his face, cuts to his legs and bruising to his ribs and leg.”

The suspect is described as a white man, aged between 30 and 40 years old, and around 5ft 7ins tall.

He had short black hair which was curly at the sides and a black goatee type beard. He was wearing black glasses and a black jacket.

PC Dale Powell is investigating and said: “We are aware there were a number of witnesses who were in the area and I would ask that they contact police.

“Specifically, a woman who attempted to intervene in the incident, a man who was standing nearby and someone in a vehicle which was prevented from leaving the area due to the assault.

“I would also ask anyone else who can assist the investigation to please make contact.”

He urged anyone with information to contact police via 101.
