The Herts air ambulance was called after a man collapsed in Hatfield


Police have confirmed that a man collapsed and died in Hatfield over the weekend.

Emergency services were called to Wellfield Road at 1.18pm on Saturday amid reports that a man had collapsed and was not breathing.

An ambulance service spokesman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “We dispatched a rapid response vehicle, ambulance crew, officer and the Herts Air Ambulance, and they treated a man believed to be in his 50s who was in cardiac arrest.

“Despite their best efforts he sadly died at the scene.”

A police spokeswoman confirmed the man’s family has been informed.
