Man charged with two alleged taxi robberies in Welwyn Garden City

Police are appealing to members of the public after two alleged robberies in Welwyn Garden City.

The first incident is alleged to have taken place on Digswell Lane at around 1.30am on Sunday, January 24.

The second incident is alleged to have happened on Wednesday, February 3 at around 7.30pm in the car park of Digswell Tennis Club in Digswell Park Road.

Detective Constable Ian Aldridge from the Local Crime Unit said: “I would like to hear from anyone who has any information about either incident.”

Mark Vagnoni, 34, from Haldens in Welwyn Garden City, has been charged with two robberies and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon. He appeared before Hatfield Remand Court on February 5 where he was remanded into custody and is now due before St Albans Crown on March 4.
