Man assaulted outside McDonald's in Welwyn Garden City

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault outside McDonald's in Welwyn Garden City which left a man with a head injury.

The attack happened on Saturday, April 25, at around 2.30am.

The victim in his 20s from Welwyn Garden City sustained the injury following an altercation with an unknown man in the service area at the rear of the fast-food outlet.

The injured man fell after he was punched, hitting the pavement.

He was taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage and was discharged on Sunday, April 26.

The offender is described as a white man, in his late 20s to early 30s.

He is about 5ft 10ins tall, with short hair and a trimmed beard.

He was wearing a purple polo shirt and blue jeans.

Detective Sergeant Derek Gray said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or have information about the events leading up to the incident.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a man matching the description.”
