Man assaulted in pub gang attack

A MAN was viciously assaulted by a gang of men in an attack which left him with a broken finger.

The 34-year-old was jumped by up to 10 men at the Oak Tavern pub in Moors Walk, WGC.

At about 11pm on Friday the WGC victim was approached by the men then kicked and punched.

He was taken to the QE2 Hospital, but was released after treatment.

Pc Cheryl Johnson said: "I am appealing for any witnesses who were in the pub at the time of the incident and may have seen the altercation take place.

"I would also ask if anyone has any information about the incident to please get in touch as well."

* A 24-year-old man from WGC was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of assault. He was street bailed until this Saturday.
