Man released on bail in connection with police property damaged


A man was arrested after police were threatened with a large stick and a lamp post was damaged outside Welwyn Garden City police station.

Between 3.30pm and 3.40pm on Thursday, November 26, damage was caused to a police lamp in Bridge Road.

A 37-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident after a member of the public called the police.

Sergeant Stephen Hynes, of the Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I’m pleased to report no injuries to anyone and the male has been bailed pending further enquiries with other agencies.”

The man has been released on bail until January 14.
