JOHN Travolta, Oscar winner Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Patrick Swayze and Sir Michael Caine can all be seen in Hatfield later this week.

For Hatfield House is set to open its grounds to present four great feature films and the audience will all be watching from their cars.

Drive-in movies are usually associated with American school kids and cheesy musicals - so where better to watch classic films Grease and Dirty Dancing.

As well as the classic Sandy and Danny romance Grease and the fancy footwork of Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing, the stately home is playing host to the original version of The Italian Job, featuring Sir Michael Caine, and Abba musical Mamma Mia!

The screen is about 20 metres across and will be set up on the Queen Elizabeth Oak Field, with hotdogs, popcorn and drinks all on hand.

The films will begin as it gets dark and the audience will tune their cars or portable radios to the special FM frequency to hear the action.

Tickets, costing 20 in advance and 25 on the night, are selling fast for Grease on Thursday, September 10; The Italian Job on Friday; Mamma Mia on Saturday; and Dirty Dancing on next Sunday.
