THE M25 has reopened this evening (Monday) after a huge fire in Potters Bar was put out.

A stretch of road between junctions 23 (A1) and 25 (Enfield) closed this afternoon after smoke from a fire next to the motorway drifted over the carriageways in both directions.

Commuters faced long delays and diversions during rush hour but the road has now cleared.

The fire started at around 3.10pm this afternoon on Dancers Hill Road and took 12 fire engines and 60 firefighters to put it out.
