Mystery photo find in Amazon delivery leads back to Welwyn Hatfield

Can you help reunite these old family pictures with their owners?
Clare Shippey, who lives in Devon, got an extra surprise in her Amazon delivery earlier this week.
She had ordered a book called “Herbal Remedies” from the second hand section of the site, and when she opened it up, a handful of historical family snaps fell out.
Amazed by her unexpected find, Clare noticed that one of them had “Copyright Welwyn & Hatfield Times” stamped on the back, with one of the paper’s old addresses and phone numbers.
The rest are not press images but informal family album pictures.
Working on the assumption that the book’s previous owner might have been local to the newspaper, Clare picked up the phone and offered to put them in the post.
She hopes the newspaper can reunite the charming pictures with their owners.
“I would love to hear if you do manage to reunite them with their owner,” said Clare.
The photographs, mostly black-and-white, seem to range across several decades between the 1930s through to the 1980s.
They show informal family portraits and scenes from garden and holiday life - including what looks to have been a very successful fishing trip.
Some of the pictures are in poor condition, with some tears and rips.
As there is no date, it is not easy for the Welwyn Hatfield Times reporters to find the press photo in our archives - so we’re calling out to the public for help.
