Here's a look at the new housing development being built in Welwyn Garden City on the former QEII Hospital site.

“The QEII development will bring new vitality to the site that has stood empty since 2015.”

The Bellway at QEII development, off Howlands, on the site of the former QEII Hospital, will comprise 163 properties.

The old hospital is currently being demolished to make way for Bellway Homes’ development of contemporary apartments and houses

It will include one and two bedroom apartments, two-bedroom coach houses and two, three and four bedroom homes.

The first phase of the development next to The New QEII Hospital will be launching to purchase off plan later this month.

Jody Bryant, sales manager for Bellway Homes North London, said: “The QEII development will bring new vitality to the site that has stood empty since 2015.

“These contemporary and affordable homes have been designed sympathetically to fit with their woodland surroundings, and with so much to offer locally, including fast travel connections to the capital, family days out and leisure facilities, it is a great opportunity to get more for your money in a desirable Garden City.

“We anticipate that our launch day will be popular with many in attendance, so those interested in the development should register their interest now.”

The homes will be finished to a high specification and include modern design features such as en-suite bathrooms and fitted wardrobes to master bedrooms, open-plan living spaces and Zanussi, integrated kitchen appliances.

All homes will have gardens or balconies to make the most of being out in the open but close enough for an easy commute to the capital.

Guide prices will be available soon.
