A LONG-SERVING police inspector will be leaving his post next month after 12 years working in Welwyn Hatfield.
Inspector Paul Hart will step down as head of the Welwyn Hatfield neighbourhood team, to be replaced by inspector Ian Grout, who starts his new job on May 13.
Insp Hart is moving to a new position based in St Albans.
Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps wished the departing officer well in his new job and welcomed his successor.

"There are many issues in the neighbourhoods that make up Welwyn Hatfield, and I have no doubt that having somebody with a new perspective on the issues we face will be very welcome," Mr Shapps said.
"I look forward to working with Ian and I wish him all the best in his new role.
