TWO long-serving school governors have been rewarded for their services to education in Potters Bar.

Audrey Dawson and Leslie Bullamore were both recognised at a special awards ceremony organised by Hertfordshire County Council.

Mrs Dawson received a platinum award for 30 years' service to Dame Alice Owen's School, while Mr Bullamore was given a gold award for 20 years' service at Oakmere Primary School.

Mrs Dawson, who retired from her role in November, said she was "honoured" to receive the gong.

Meanwhile, Mr Bullamore described his time as a governor as "rewarding".
